7 Days Imperial Cities Tour from Casablanca

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Mohamed V International airport of Casablanca, then head to the city center where we will make a visit to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, which is a unique masterpiece of architecture and is the third largest mosque in the world. The minaret, which is the highest in the world, dominates the horizons of the city.

Have a nice drive alongside the paved Ain Diab Corniche, then visit the Rick’s Cafe before heading to Rabat, which is our first imperial city and is the official capital of Morocco.

We will start our tour of Rabat from the dramatic Uddayas Kasbah (fortress) that was founded by the Almohads in the 12th century. It offers panoramic views over the ever-flowing Bou Regreg River, Sale, and the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the impressive Hassan Tower, which is the landmark of Rabat. Later, we will visit the Challah Necropolis before heading to the hotel/Rabat where we will spend our first night.

After breakfast, we will resume our 7 days imperial cities tour from Casablanca by driving to the city of Meknes, the second imperial city. Meknes was founded by the late Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century who turned it into the “Versailles of Morocco”.

We will begin exploring the city by the impressive Bab (gate) Mansour with its geometric designs, then stretch your legs in the el-Hedim Square before getting to the bustling olive market. Visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, then have a drive through the royal palace high walls before getting to the stables and granaries.

After lunch, we will continue on the track to the Roman Ruins of Volubilis where we will have a guided walking tour. Learn about the Roman civilisation along with the lifestyle of the Romans who lived in the north of Africa. In the late afternoon, we will head to Fes where we will spend our second night.

Today, we will have a full-day guided tour of Fes, the third imperial city. Fes is the oldest imperial city of Morocco dating back to the 7th century. Initially, we will have a drive uphill where we can have a panoramic of the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes) while learning about the history and lifestyle of this mysterious city.

Fes el-Bali is listed by the UNESCO as world heritage site and is the largest car-free district in the world. Take memorable pictures by the golden gates of the royal place, then have a walk inside the vibrant Mellah (former Jewish Quarter). 

Later, we will dive deep in the bustling Medina with its labyrinthine alleyways that are shrouded in mystery. No worries, your private tour guide will unveil it for you. Pass by the countless mosques including the famous al-Qarawyyine, which is the oldest university in the world. Visit the Chouara Tanneries where leather is made, then explore the local Souks (markets) that are organized into sections.

In the late afternoon, we will escort you back to your Riad where you will spend the third night.

After breakfast, our 7 days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will lead us today to the impressive Ouzoud Waterfalls. Drive to the charming city of Ifrane where we will have a short break. Ifrane is often called the pseudo-Switzerland version city of Morocco and was selected as the second cleanest city in the world back in 2015.

Drive through Azrou, then alongside the Middle Atlas Mountains before getting to Beni Mellal. After that, we will turn left to the dramatic Ouzoud Waterfalls where we will spend our fourth night. 

After breakfast, you may want to stretch your legs through the lush olive orchards before getting down where you can get a spectacular view of the waterfalls.

Later, we will drive to Marrakech through the lush olive plain. In the evening, you may want to stretch your legs to the Jemaa el-Fna Square that turns into an arena of shows filled with musicians, snake-charmers, storytellers, acrobats along with food stalls selling Moroccan delicacies.

Today, we will devote the day to exploring the best of Marrakech with a local tour guide whose knowledge about the city is outstanding.

Drive through the Ville Nouvelle with its fancy buildings before getting to the botanical gardens of Majorelle. After meandering around these beautiful gardens that have a rich history, we will head to the Medina where we will start our guided walking tour.

Learn about the history behind the foundation of La Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the El-Badi Palace, and much more. Explore the vibrant Souks before ending the tour in the Jemaa el-Fna Square or your private guide will escort you to your Riad.
