4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

After breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will pick you up at 08 am, our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech will initially take us for an enjoyable drive across the Atlas Mountains with its snow-capped peaks in the winter. We will include many short breaks for taking memorable pictures along with the possibility to visiting a local Argan Cooperative that is run by women offering an opportunity to learn how the process of making Argan oil alongside its products using traditional methods.

Cross the impressive Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) before reaching the dramatic Ksar Ait Benhaddou where we will have a guided walking tour around this unique masterpiece of architecture. After lunch, we will drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains with its amazing geological formations before getting to the Nkob Oasis, which is known for its palm trees and countless Kasbahs (fortresses).

Today, we will resume our desert tour from Marrakech by driving across the former volcanic plateau passing by the Alnif center, which is famous for its Jurassic Arthropods. Continue on the track further south until we reach the city of Rissani, which is the cradle of the ruling Royal Family and an important commercial center in the former caravan route that used to link Marrakech with the Sahara and the Arabian Peninsula.

Later, we will arrive in the majestic sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will have a camel ride experience while watching the stunning view of the sunset. Climb up to the top of the sand dune with the option to include a sand-boarding experience (let’s informed in advance). Get to the luxury desert camp where you will be served dinner followed by a session of music performed by local guys using traditional instruments like drums and castanets before culminating the day with a relaxing sleep in your private tent.

Early wake up in the morning, we will invite you to climb the sand dune to attend the miraculous view of the sunrise. Have breakfast and resume our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech passing by the city of Erfoud, which known for fossils with the option to make a visit to a local factory.

Later, we will drive through the palm oasis of Tinejdad, then have a walk in the dramatic Todra Gorge (Canyon) with its high cliffs that keep attracting mountain climbers and nature seekers from all over the world. Continue on the track to the lush Dades Valley where we will spend our third night.

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in the Dades Valley, we will head to Marrakech passing by the valley of Roses where we will make a visit to a local cooperative as an opportunity to learn about the local products such rose water, perfumes, lotions, and much more.

Later, we will cross the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa), which has been a backdrop for shooting international films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Sahara, and many others. 

Continue on the track by crossing the Atlas Mountains before reaching Marrakech in the evening marking the end of our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech and hoping you go back home with memorable experiences from Morocco.
