Top-Rated Marrakech to Essaouira Day Trip

After breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Marrakech, we will pick you up from your accommodation for an interesting Marrakech to Essaouira day trip. Our first drive will be across the fertile plain around Marrakech with its olive groves & orchards. 

We will cross the city of Chichaoua before getting to the land of Argan trees where we will include a visit to a local cooperative that is run by women. Learn about the process of extracting Argan oil alongside the similar products from the seeds using traditional methods.

Arrive in Essaouira and spend the time meandering around its landmarks including the traditional fishing port, the Medina with its fortification and bastions that are built by the Atlantic. Visit the fish market and the Mellah (former Jewish Quarter). You may want to visit the local museum of Essaouira and meander around the intricate alleyways that are filled with tiny shops selling small items at affordable prices.

Essaouira has a rich history but it flourished in the 18th century when the Sultan Sidi Muhammed planned to make it the capital of the Kingdom, for this reason he appointed a French architect to build as a fortress along with the port for commercial purposes.

Essaouira is known for its cool weather throughout the year compared to other Moroccan cities, that is why, it is an escape for most Moroccans.

After lunch, you may want to stretch your legs by the sandy beach while watching surfers and kite surfers, and in the late afternoon, we will drive back to Marrakech.
